Master Driver CPC – the countdown has begun – February 2012
Figures released by the Driving Standards Agency show that little progress has been made by LGV and PCV drivers regarding their Driver CPC Periodic Training. Of the estimated 9,187,500 hours that need to be completed and uploaded by the end of February 2012, RTITB has noted an estimated 36% deficit from where the industry should be at this time, showing that a vast number of drivers may not have even begun to plan their Periodic Training.
Since November 2011, RTITB has invested in marketing campaigns targeting the 40,000+ UK drivers and their employers to promote the benefits associated with planning and completing Periodic Training ahead of time and remaining safe and legal on the roads.
The new Driver CPC Directive cannot be ignored and, when implemented correctly, is an effective way in which driving standards can be improved and maintained in the UK. To support this, RTITB, the largest commercial provider of Driver CPC training in the UK, will be at the CV Show to raise awareness of the impending CPC deadline and promote the Master Driver CPC Consortium.
