Transporters swap trucks for track after industry’s biggest show

Commercial Motor magazine has invited exhibitors at The Commercial Vehicle Show to swap motoring for greyhound racing in an evening that will see the magazine’s guests take over the entire grandstand at Hall Green Stadium in Birmingham.

The Commercial Vehicle Show, taking place from the 24th – 26th April at the NEC, is the industry’s largest annual road transport event in Britain with close to 400 exhibitors.

Andy Salter, managing director of Commercial Motor magazine, said: “The CV Show 2012 is the commercial vehicle sector’s premier UK exhibition. As the media partner for the event, Commercial Motor magazine is constantly looking at ways to improve the experience for visitors and exhibitors to the Birmingham Show.

“Hall Green Stadium offers us the perfect, convenient venue to combine business and pleasure in a fun environment. We’re looking forward to a big night out and, hopefully, backing a few winners too!”

Hall Green Stadium and its on-site hotel, The Lodge, are popular venues for exhibitors and attendees of Birmingham’s NEC. James Sharkey, duty manager at Hall Green Stadium, said: “The staff here are really looking forward to playing host to such a large crowds. Visitors from the NEC always have a great time unwinding after busy trade shows. You can’t beat the atmosphere here when we are full capacity.

“It also gives exhibitors the perfect opportunity to catch up, meet new people and have some light-hearted banter over dinner and the racing.”
