The UK has been the only significant EU market to show growth in the CV sector in January.
New figures from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association show that, overall, registrations for commercial vehicles were down by 10.6% in January.
Just 126,110 vehicles were registered in the EU. Italy saw the biggest fall of 23.6% while Germany and Spain followed closely with drops of 15.5% each. France also showed a drop of 9.8%.
However, the UK posted growth of 5.4%, helping to cushion the overall blow. Registrations of LCVs were particularly high in this country, with a market expansion of almost 12%.
