The Main Stage

The tachograph landscape is changing. From July 2026, cross-border vehicles over 2.5 tonnes will fall under drivers’ hours rules, reshaping the UK and EU compliance landscape.

While HGV operators are familiar with drivers’ hours requirements, many fleets are now entering regulated territory for the first time, bringing new operational and administrative challenges. At the same time, established operators are under increasing pressure to modernise how compliance is managed.

In this session, the Road Haulage Association, VDO, Mulgrew Haulage and Samsara explore what this shift means in practice. From download obligations and infringement rectification to digital workflows and preventative approaches that reduce repeat offences, we will examine how fleets can move from reactive compliance to a more streamlined, forward-looking model.

Mulgrew Haulage will share how modernising their compliance processes has saved approximately 30 minutes per driver per month in administrative time while improving visibility and control across their fleet.
