DVSA ATF Test Pits
To open an ATF lane, your premises have to meet a DVSA-approved layout, including safe access to the pit from both ends while the longest vehicle you intend to test is sitting over it. Our most common layout is a 13m uninterrupted working length with side entry and exit tunnels at each end.
Standard specification:
- 13m working length, 1m wide to also accommodate Class 4 and 7 vehicles
- 1.6m depth for testing low-skirted vehicles, with a step-up platform at 1.4m
- Recess box and subframes for play detectors
- Optional radius plates and shaker plates for Class 4 and 7 testing
- Zone 2 lighting, compressed air safety couplings, waste oil connection and sump
- Full design calculations, plus layout, civils and structural drawings specific to your site
- 10-year structural warranty
