DVSA now expects a laden roller brake test for annual testing and regular safety inspections. Getting a vehicle to 65% of its design axle weight usually means ballast, a forklift and lost time. The Vamag RBT/MSC does it hydraulically.
Each axle is raised in under 20 seconds and lowered in under 15, so a laden test on a tri-axle vehicle adds roughly 105 seconds compared with loading it up. Enter the DTP number and the software calculates the 65% design axle weight for you, telling the operator when it has been reached.
