BEAMA is the UK manufacturing trade association for the electrotechnical sector, and has been for over 120 years, providing leadership, expertise and independent influence in the areas of product safety, performance, energy efficiency, digital and sustainability. Our activities span a broad spectrum of technology groups, from energy networks through to electrical infrastructure, electric vehicle charging and service technologies in the built environment. We support members in getting ahead of and supporting the development of policy, regulation and standards to ensure product cycles face minimum disruption and that BEAMA members continue to have the confidence to invest in manufacturing in the UK.

Our Electrical Transport Systems Group is heaving involved in the development of policy, regulations and standards. This year we are running campaigns around the Smart and Secure Electricity System (SSES) ; electric vehicle excise duty (eVED) and its impact on the ZEV mandate. As well as running work programmes on fire safety guidance for covered car parks; PEL 69, Mercury; PAS 1878; PAS 1899; the electricity networks sector growth plan; and securing funding for EV charging infrastructure. BEAMA are also developing a standards tracker for members, ensuring they are ahead of the competition and aware of the development of all relevant standards.
