More than just pits
We have installed over 4,500 pits, in 28 countries. Every one is designed and built in-house, made to measure for the vehicles our customer actually runs, then delivered and installed by our own team rather than handed to a third party.
Our range covers service and maintenance pits, DVSA ATF test pits, under-chassis wash pits, rail pits and our premium ProperPit, along with pit jacks, covers, bridges, barriers and the PitClad system. Steel pits solve the problems workshops have lived with in older brick and concrete pits: water ingress, poor lighting, slippery steps and unsafe floors. They are manufactured to BS EN 1090 and supplied with full structural design calculations for the site.
The first Everquip pit was installed in 1997 and is still in daily use.
Brake testing, including load simulation
We supply in-ground roller brake testers, mobile brake testers and the Vamag RBT/MSC LoadSim (LiftBed) system. Through our strong working relationship with DVSA, we were the first to gain DVSA Approval for a load simulation roller brake tester in the UK.
With DVSA now expecting a laden roller brake test, LoadSim raises each axle hydraulically in under 20 seconds rather than requiring ballast, a forklift and lost time. Enter the DTP number and the software calculates the 65% design axle weight for you. It means any vehicle can be tested laden, regardless of how it is presented at the depot.
Across our range, 15kW soft start motors reduce strain on the gearbox, eight dynamic load cells handle the weighing, and tablet control from the cab allows one-person testing.
Lifting equipment
Wireless mobile column lifts at 7.5 tonnes per column, heavy duty 4 post lifts from 8 to 30 tonnes, platform (knuckle) lifts for bus and coach work, and in-ground lifts that keep the workshop floor clear. We will tell you honestly when a lift is the wrong answer and a pit is the right one, and the other way round.
What happens after installation
Our factory-trained engineers train your technicians at handover and issue a certificate for each operator. Our in-house service team handles calibration, servicing and repairs, with spares held on the shelf and on the vans so the aim is always a first-time fix. Brake tester calibration is every 6 months, and providing this is carried out within the month due, DVSA offer a small grace period to attend.
Who we work with
Commercial vehicle repair workshops, hauliers and transport operators, bus and coach depots, DVSA ATF and MOT testing stations, councils and local authorities, construction and rail. Customers include DHL, Arriva, Aldi, Enfield Council and Phoenix Truck & Trailer. Guy Martin has a ProperPit.
We work UK-wide, across Europe and internationally, and we are ISO 9001 certified and GEA members.
